The Kershaw Covalent 2042 is a mid-size folding pocket knife built around a 3.20″ drop point blade in D2 tool steel, finished with Kershaw’s signature Black Oxide BlackWash treatment that gives the blade a worn-in, working look while helping hide everyday use scratches.
Deployment is smooth and confident thanks to a flipper tab riding on KVT ball bearings, and the blade locks up positively with Kershaw’s DuraLock crossbar mechanism for safe everyday carry. The handle is molded in gray glass-filled nylon (GFN) with stylized, textured pockets along the scales that add both visual character and grip security in the hand.
At 7.60″ overall with a 4.40″ closed length and just 2.80 oz, the Covalent carries slim and light. It ships ready for the pocket with a reversible bayonet pocket clip for ambidextrous tip-up carry, making it a comfortable everyday folder for work, camp, or general utility cutting tasks.
