Description
The Spyderco Assist Salt Lightweight is a purpose-built folding knife engineered for marine, water rescue, and other highly corrosive environments where ordinary tool steels would quickly fail. Part of Spyderco’s Salt series, this folder pairs a 3.68″ part-serrated blade with H2 steel construction and a high-visibility yellow FRN handle to deliver a rust-resistant cutting tool that thrives in salt water and humid conditions.
The H2 steel hollow-ground blade carries a partially serrated edge, giving the user the best of both worlds: a clean slicing belly for draw cuts paired with aggressive serrated teeth that chew through rope, webbing, and other tough materials. A fully accessible Spyderco Round Hole allows fast, one-handed opening even when the operator is wearing gloves. The blade locks up solid via a sturdy lockback mechanism for safe, reliable lockup during heavy use.
The handle is built on Spyderco’s lightweight FRN (fiberglass-reinforced nylon) platform, molded in safety yellow with the brand’s signature Bi-Directional Texturing pattern for a secure, slip-resistant grip in wet, slimy conditions. The knife measures 4.87″ closed and opens to an overall length of 8.55″.
Purpose-built as a rescue-capable folder, the Assist Salt includes a built-in glass breaker at the butt of the handle and a reversible pocket clip configured for tip-up carry. The high-visibility yellow handle makes the knife easy to locate in low light or around the water, rounding out a folder that is at home on a boat, a rescue harness, or a work belt in any environment where corrosion is the enemy.
