This is the Savage Stevens release housing, factory part 76-182, sold individually.
The factory offered this two ways — the housing on its own, and a complete release housing assembly under No. 6-760. Buying the shell alone is the cheaper repair when the housing itself is bent, cracked or has a wallowed mounting hole and the levers, plunger and spring in your rifle are still good. One part number covers this whole action family across three brand names and both feed systems, since Savage, Stevens and Springfield were three labels on the same guns out of Chicopee Falls.

Condition: Used, in comparable condition across the group. Each housing carries most of its dark factory finish, thinning to grey on the raised edges, the tail and around the mounting holes. Light scuffing throughout and a little finish loss on the flats from previous fitting. Housings are straight with crisp bends, tails flat and unbent, and all holes round and unwallowed. No rust, pitting, cracks or peening.
