This is the Shotgun Magazine Plug, turned wood, 6-1/4″ overall with a .733″ diameter collar head, for 12, 16 and 20 gauge magazine tubes. Being wood, it can be cut shorter to suit your gun.
The three-shell limit applies to migratory bird hunting, not to upland or big game, so plugs get pulled at the end of the season and set aside. That is why so many originals turn up loose and separated from the guns they came out of, and why the hard part is not finding a wood plug but finding one the right length for your magazine.
Markings: There is impressed lettering along the shaft, too faint to read. We have not been able to make it out and are not able to say what maker or model it refers to. Sold as an unidentified wood plug.

Fits:
- 12 gauge pump and semi-automatic shotguns with a magazine tube that accepts a .733″ head
- 20 gauge pump and semi-automatic shotguns in the same tube range
- 16 gauge pump and semi-automatic shotguns
- Guns needing 6-1/4″ or less of magazine fill to reach a three-shell total — cut to length as required
Identifying features: Turned collar at the head with a groove cut behind it, and a shaft that tapers toward the tip rather than running straight. Compare against the plug that came out of your gun.
Does not fit:
- .410 magazine tubes — smaller inside diameter than this plug will enter
- Guns needing more than 6-1/4″ of fill; a longer plug is the answer there, not this one
Fitting: Remove the magazine cap and spring retainer, drop the plug into the tube, then reinstall the spring and follower. If it needs shortening, cut the tapered end with a fine-tooth saw and sand it square so it seats flat against the follower. Load dummy rounds and confirm the gun holds no more than two in the magazine plus one in the chamber before hunting over it.

Condition: The original finish is worn though and there is some wear in the shaft. Can be cut to a shorter length if desired
