Description
The Proof Research 138939 is a pre-fit bolt action replacement barrel engineered as a drop-in upgrade for the Sig Sauer Cross platform. Chambered in .260 Remington, this 16-inch barrel features Proof Research’s carbon fiber construction, producing a barrel that is notably lighter than traditional steel barrels of similar contour while delivering exceptional accuracy and performance.
The bore is cut with a 1:8″ twist and a 5-groove rifling pattern. The muzzle is threaded 5/8″-24 tpi, ready to accept a wide variety of muzzle devices or suppressors. The carbon fiber jacket provides improved heat dissipation for cooler, longer-lasting strings of fire across extended shooting sessions.
Because this is a pre-fit barrel, installation onto a Sig Sauer Cross action is straightforward – no gunsmithing required, allowing shooters to quickly and confidently swap out barrels to their desired caliber. Whether the goal is backcountry hunting, precision range work, or a lighter-pack rifle for mountain use, this carbon fiber pre-fit barrel brings proven Proof Research performance to the Cross platform.
