Description
The Leupold BX-4 Pro Guide HD Gen2 8x42mm binocular is a compact, lightweight optic designed for hunters who value portability without giving up image quality. Built around Leupold’s Elite Optical System, it delivers excellent dawn-to-dusk light transmission for a bright, high-contrast image when conditions are at their toughest. The open-bridge roof prism design sheds weight while keeping the chassis rigid, and the housing wears Leupold’s signature Black Armor Coating over a magnesium body for serious backcountry durability.
Optical performance is driven by a fully multi-coated lens system paired with Diamond Coat 2 for enhanced resolution and abrasion resistance, plus Guard-Ion lens coating to shed water, dirt, and oil from the outer glass. The 8x magnification and 42mm objective produce a 376 ft field of view at 1000 yds, a comfortable 18mm of eye relief, and a 4.20mm exit pupil – well-suited to long glassing sessions on open country.
At 24.50 oz and just 5.6″ long, the BX-4 Pro Guide HD Gen2 packs easily into a pack or chest harness, and an interpupillary distance range of 56mm to 74mm fits a wide range of users. Close focus is 8.7 ft, and a 1/4-20 threaded socket accepts standard tripod adapters for stable, shake-free long-range observation or digiscoping. Backed by Leupold’s fogproof and waterproof sealing, this binocular is built to perform in rain, snow, and rapid temperature swings.
