The Taurus Deputy is a modern single-action revolver built on a small steel frame and chambered in 45 Colt (Long Colt). Inspired by the traditional six-shooter, the Deputy pairs a classic six-shot layout with contemporary Taurus safety engineering.
At its core, the Deputy features a 4.75″ barrel paired with a matching 6-shot cylinder, both finished in Polished Black over steel construction. The SAO (Single Action Only) action provides a crisp, consistent trigger pull, while the integrated transfer bar safety blocks the firing pin from contacting a primer unless the trigger is fully depressed, allowing all six chambers to be safely loaded.
The Deputy wears a set of smooth black polymer grips sized for a comfortable hold in the small frame, and the all-steel construction brings the revolver’s weight to approximately 36.4 oz with an overall length of 10.25″. A polished black finish on the barrel, cylinder, and frame gives it a clean, traditional six-gun look that suits both the range and the field.
Built for the 45 Colt cartridge, the Deputy is equally at home on the cowboy-action range, plinking with light loads, or handling mid-pressure field work.
