This is the Shotgun Magazine Plug, turned wood, 5-1/2″ overall with a .833″ diameter flanged head, for 12 gauge magazine tubes. Being wood, it can be cut shorter to suit your gun.
This one is built differently from the tapered wood plugs. Rather than a head that blends into the body, it has a distinct flange stepped down sharply to a narrower shaft. We have checked this plug in a 12 gauge magazine tube and the flange enters and rides inside it. Match on that stepped profile and on the .833″ flange rather than on gauge alone — compare it against the plug that came out of your gun before ordering.
Included: Magazine plug only, the exact part pictured.
Fits:
- 12 gauge pump and semi-automatic shotguns taking a .833″ flanged plug
- Guns needing 5-1/2″ or less of magazine fill to reach a three-shell total — cut to length as required
Does not fit:
- 20 gauge and .410 magazine tubes
- Guns needing more than 5-1/2″ of fill; a longer plug is the answer there, not this one
Fitting: Remove the magazine cap and spring retainer, drop the plug into the tube, then reinstall the spring and follower. If it needs shortening, cut the plain end with a fine-tooth saw and sand it square so it seats flat — never trim the flange, since that is the dimension the fit depends on. Load dummy rounds and confirm the gun holds no more than two in the magazine plus one in the chamber before hunting over it.
Please note: Buyer is responsible for verifying correct fit for their specific firearm. Installation should be performed by a qualified gunsmith. Please review all photos, as they are part of the description and show the actual item you will receive.
Condition: Retains original finish with no chips or cracks. No significant wear on the shaft.
