- Additional information
This is the Stevens locking bolt, hook type, for the Stevens and Springfield single shot shotguns.
Stevens was acquired by Savage in 1920 and used Springfield as its budget label, dropping it in 1947 and reviving it on economy guns in the 1960s. The same shotgun was sold under both names and under various chain store brands.
Included: One of the locking bolts pictured. Sold individually.
Fits:
- Stevens and Springfield 940
- Stevens and Springfield 944
- Stevens and Springfield 947
Fitting: The locking bolt is what holds the action closed on firing. Have a qualified gunsmith fit this and verify the action locks up tight before the gun is loaded.
Please note: Buyer is responsible for verifying correct fit for their specific firearm. Installation should be performed by a qualified gunsmith. Please review all photos, as they are part of the description and show the actual item you will receive.
Condition: Used locking bolts with intact dark blued finish and light wear on the raised edges. Machining marks are visible in the milled recesses, with no rust or pitting. The hooks are complete with no chipping or rounding, the cross holes are clean with no elongation.
