Description
The Taurus 856 is a lightweight, six-shot .38 Special +P double-action/single-action revolver purpose-built for everyday concealed carry and range use. This MA-compliant variant features a compact 2″ barrel and a small stainless steel frame, giving it a snag-free profile that disappears in a pocket or IWB holster while still delivering the reassuring weight and balance of an all-metal revolver.
Built around a small-frame stainless steel cylinder and frame, the 856 carries a six-round capacity of .38 Special +P ammunition. The matte stainless finish on the barrel and cylinder provides strong corrosion resistance for daily carry, and the exposed hammer lets the shooter choose between a smooth double-action trigger pull and a crisp single-action press. Removable serrated blade front and fixed rear sights provide a simple, defensive sight picture that is quick to acquire under stress.
The 856 is finished with black rubber grips shaped for comfortable recoil control with both .38 Special and +P defensive loads, and tips the scales at just 22 oz unloaded with an overall length of 6.55″. DA/SA action, exposed hammer, and Taurus’s reputation for reliable budget revolvers make the 856 a strong value pick for anyone needing a discreet, easy-to-shoot six-shooter.
