This is the Savage Front Operating Handle Collar for the Savage Models 30 and 79 and the Springfield Model 67 pump shotguns in 12 gauge.
Savage sold the same basic pump gun under several names over a long production run, which is why one collar covers the Savage 30, the later 79, and the Springfield 67. Springfield was Savage’s house brand, so a 67 is the same gun under a different rollmark.

Fitting: The collar retains the forend on the action slide assembly. A worn or loose collar shows up as a forend that rattles, shifts on the tube, or works loose in use. After installation, check with the gun empty that the forend is secure with no play and that the action cycles fully and smoothly through its stroke.
