This part is compatible with REMINGTON Model 58 Sportman, 1100 / Sportsman 12 and 11-87.
The Sportsman 58 was Remington’s first gas‑operated shotgun, using an 870‑based receiver and a two‑position gas regulator with the recoil spring inside the magazine tube, while the 1100 replaced it with a far smoother, fixed‑port self‑regulating gas system that became the foundation for all later Remington gas guns; the 11‑87 then evolved that design with a pressure‑compensating valve that automatically handles a wider range of loads, and the Sportsman 12 is simply a budget‑trimmed 1100 with identical internal mechanics and only cosmetic simplifications.
