This is the Tanfoglio GT22 Sear, sold with its pin, for the .22 LR pistol sold in the United States as the FIE E22B and the Excam GT-22.
Fratelli Tanfoglio of Gardone Val Trompia built it along the lines of the Beretta Model 71, though the two guns share styling rather than parts — the sears are not interchangeable. It reached the US under several labels. FIE cataloged it as the E22 and E22B, marked the barrels “F.I.E. Miami FLA Mod. E22 Cal .22 LR,” and also badged the gun Titan II in .22 LR. Excam sold the same pistol as the GT-22.
That Titan II badging is not a coincidence. The .22 shares parts with the .32 and .380 Titan II — they are one action in three chamberings, which is why the model names overlap and why buyers routinely order the wrong one.
To check against your own part before buying: this sear carries two plain holes and takes a loose pin, which is included.
Included: Sear and pin, the exact parts pictured.
Fits:
- FIE E22B, .22 LR
- FIE E22 and E22BW
- Excam GT-22 in .22 LR, the Titan II size frame
Does not fit: Beretta 70, 70 Puma, 70S and 71 pistols. The Tanfoglio is styled after them but the sear is a different part entirely — the Beretta uses a tall body with a single hole carrying a pressed-in bushing, against two plain holes and a loose pin here.
Also does not fit Excam GT-22 and GT27 pistols chambered in .22 Short. Those are built on the smaller Titan pocket frame rather than the Titan II frame, and are a different pistol despite the similar model numbering. The Titan E27 in .25 ACP is likewise a separate, smaller gun from a different Tanfoglio company.
Not verified: Targa-marked GT22 and GT22T pistols. Targa is a Tanfoglio brand name rather than a separate maker, so the gun underneath is likely the same, but we have not compared one directly. Note also that .22 LR pistols in this family exist with both 8-round and 10-round magazines, which points to more than one grip frame — if yours takes an 8-round magazine, compare before ordering. We have also not compared this sear against the .32 and .380 Titan II; they are the same action family, but hammer and firing pin arrangements differ between rimfire and centerfire, so that is the one interchange in the group we would not assume.
Fitting: This is a fire control part and should be fit by a qualified gunsmith. Compare the nose, both holes and the overall profile against the sear coming out of your pistol before installing. Once assembled, function check on an empty gun before loading: confirm the hammer holds at cock, that it does not drop when the frame is bumped, and that the trigger releases and resets cleanly. Note that applying the rear safety does not drop the hammer — the hammer staying back is correct behavior on this pistol, not a fault. Verify both safeties work. Do not load the pistol until it passes.
Please note: Buyer is responsible for verifying correct fit for their specific firearm. Installation should be performed by a qualified gunsmith. Please review all photos, as they are part of the description and show the actual item you will receive.
Condition: Used, in the original dark blued finish, intact and even across both pieces. Original machining and grinding marks still show on the flats. Bright contact wear runs along the lower edge and at the step ahead of the notch, both from normal cycling. No rust, no pitting, no chips. Both holes are round with clean bore walls, the nose is square with no rounding or peening, and the sear is straight and true. The pin is straight and full diameter with light bright tracks along its length from seating.
