These are 1911 Officer Grips, smooth walnut, for Officer’s ACP and Compact size 1911 frames. Colt and most 1911 collectors call these stocks rather than grips, and you will see both terms used for the same part.
The Government and the Commander share the same grip frame length, so their stocks interchange freely — the Officer frame is the short one, and it is the only 1911 length that takes a different panel. That is why a Commander owner shopping by slide length often orders the wrong set. Match on the frame, not the barrel.

Identifying features: Smooth walnut, no checkering or border, and no maker’s stamp on either inside face. One panel has a notch cut through the full thickness of its rear edge, visible from both sides rather than milled into the inside face only. Compare that edge profile against the stocks currently on your pistol before ordering.
Does not fit:
- Government and Commander frames — these take the longer full size panel
- Double-stack and wide-body 1911s
- Bobtail and other reshaped Officer frames
Fitting: Seat both panels and check that the grip screws draw down square without the panels standing proud of the frame.

Condition:
Smooth walnut with an even medium brown finish, no checkering or border, so the whole outer face is a wear surface. Both panels show a light uniform sheen with no thinning at the high points where a hand rides, no dents, and no compression rings around the screw holes. The counterbores on the outer faces are sharp at the edges and clean inside. Grain is straight and tight with a mild ribbon figure, and the two panels are a reasonable match to each other. A small dark speck near the upper hole on one panel reads as a mineral streak in the wood rather than a surface mark. The inside faces are clean, with the usual shallow relief around the upper screw hole and no cracking at the hole walls. Both panels are flat and true. Appears unused.
