This Mossberg 500 action slide tube nut threads onto the magazine tube and retains the action slide assembly. Factory part 3408. Often called the forend nut or magazine tube nut.
The 12 gauge nut for later production, across the field, trap, Persuader and Cruiser lines.
Included: One action slide tube nut, the exact part pictured.
Fits, 12 gauge:
- Mossberg 500 field and trap models
- Mossberg 500 Persuader, blued
- Mossberg 500 Cruiser, blued
- New Haven 600AT and 600AST
Does not fit early production, which uses 1525; the 20 gauge, which uses 1997; the .410, which uses 2227; parkerized guns, which use 6539; or nickel guns, which use 7732. Compare against the nut you are removing before ordering.
Condition and fitting: Check the threads before you buy — this part comes off with a wrench and takes the abuse. Run it onto the tube by hand first; if it binds or crossthreads, stop rather than forcing it.

Condition:
Used. Black finish largely intact with light thinning and scattered handling marks. No rust or pitting. Threads clean and undamaged. Nut true and round with no distortion, spanner notches square and unburred. See photos.
