This is the Ruger Cylinder Latch Spring for all Old Model Blackhawk and Single-Six revolvers.
Old Models are the three-screw guns Ruger built before 1973, identified by the three screws across the frame. The New Models that followed use a transfer bar and a two-pin frame, and are a different design.
Safety note: Old Model revolvers have no transfer bar and can fire if the hammer is struck with a round under it. Ruger has long offered a free conversion to the transfer bar system for these guns. Unless yours has been converted, carry it with the hammer down on an empty chamber.

Fitting: This spring tensions the cylinder latch so it holds position rather than drifting. A spring that has taken a set or lost tension shows up as a latch that feels soft, fails to return, or does not hold. After installation, work the action with the gun empty and confirm the latch operates positively and returns fully every time before loading.

Condition: Used cylinder latch springs in bare silver spring steel, unfinished as made with no rust or pitting. The coils are evenly wound and unsprung, the arms are correctly formed with no kinks, and the tips are complete.
