This is the Beretta 8000 Cougar sear, for F and G configuration pistols.
Both configurations are double-action/single-action and share their fire control parts — the F carries an ambidextrous safety and decocker on the slide, the G decocks only. The D is a different animal: double-action only, with a spurless hammer and no safety or decocker.
Beretta chambered the 8357 in .357 SIG in 1996 with law enforcement in mind, as the cartridge was gaining ground, and the Los Angeles Police Department carried it as a duty pistol for a few years. On the civilian side it was the slowest seller of the four calibers, which is why 8357 parts are the hardest of the series to find today.

Compare against: the D configuration Cougars differ from the F and G in the hammer, but we have not confirmed whether the sear changes with them. The 8045 and 8045 Mini Cougar in .45 ACP sit on a larger frame, and the Stoeger Cougar is a licensed continuation of the design. Match on features before ordering.
Does not fit:
- Beretta 92 and 96 series
- Beretta PX4 Storm, a later rotating-barrel design on a different frame
Fitting: This is a fire control part. Have it fitted by a qualified gunsmith and function-check the pistol on an empty chamber before loading. Confirm the sear holds at full cock, that the decocker lowers the hammer without releasing it to the firing pin, that the hammer does not follow the slide, and that both the double-action and single-action strokes reset cleanly.

Condition: Even dark grey to black finish, intact with light scattered handling marks and no rust, pitting or flaking. Engagement surfaces are cleanly formed with no chipping, rounding or peening visible. Pivot hole is round and unelongated with clean edges. The lateral lug and all step surfaces are sharp and well defined. Original surface texture and machining marks remain throughout. No cracks, bends or evidence of stoning, grinding or other alteration.
