This is the AMT Backup bolt assembly, .380 ACP, for the single-action pistol.
The Backup carries a separate bolt inside the slide rather than machining the breech face into the slide itself, so the bolt, firing pin and extractor come out as a group. This one is chambered .380 ACP. The .22 LR guns use a smaller rim and a different breech face, so check your chambering before ordering.
The Backup came in two generations that share almost nothing in the fire control. The original is single action only with a manual safety. The later Small Frame and Large Frame guns are double action only with no manual safety at all. The safety lever settles which you have at a glance: if there is one, the pistol is single action.
The design dates to 1978 and was first built by Ordnance Manufacturing Corporation of El Monte, California, before Arcadia Machine & Tool bought the tooling. AMT produced them at El Monte, Arcadia, Covina and Irwindale, and Galena Industries and High Standard carried the line on later.
Included: Bolt, bolt retaining pin, firing pin, firing pin spring, extractor, extractor pin and extractor spring — factory parts 4, 47, 7, 41, 6, 8 and 48. The exact parts pictured.

Fitting: Have the assembly fitted by a gunsmith. Before the pistol is loaded, confirm the extractor holds a case rim positively, that the firing pin moves freely and returns under spring pressure with no protrusion at rest, and that the pistol chambers, fires and ejects reliably.

Condition: Stainless steel bolt assembly, unpolished matte grey machined finish. Serrations sharp and fully defined with no rounding. Breech face clean with no cratering or erosion, firing pin hole round and unelongated. Extractor cut and locking surfaces cleanly formed with no chips or peening. Cross pins present and seated. The underside shows wear from cycling, with the rail edges and interior channel rubbed bright where the finish has worn through. No rust, pitting, cracks or galling. Light handling marks elsewhere.
