Vintage Military Rifle Parts: 1893 Spanish Mauser Rear Sight Base
There are some dings and scratches from normal use, along with a dent on the front, likely from removal. There’s no significant corrosion, but please check the photos closely to assess the condition and confirm compatibility with your model.
The 1893 Spanish Mauser is a small‑ring, five‑shot, controlled‑feed bolt‑action rifle that introduced the flush staggered‑column magazine, forming the basis for all later Mauser military designs. The six‑pointed star on the side of the base corresponds to Spanish quality control inspection marks found on Oviedo‑produced Mauser parts, commonly seen on small components like sight bases, sight leaves, screws, and barrel bands. Oviedo manufactured Model 1893 Mauser rifles and variants from 1893 to 1951.
