- Additional information
This is the Colt Rebound Lever for the Colt Model 1892 and 1893 New Army and New Navy double-action revolvers.
The New Army and New Navy was Colt’s first swing-out cylinder revolver and the first US service revolver built that way, replacing the single-action Army in .38 Long Colt. The Army and Navy models are the same revolver under different contract names.
Included: One of the rebound levers pictured. Sold individually.
Fits:
- Colt New Army, Model 1892 and 1893
- Colt New Navy, Model 1892 and 1893
Fitting: The rebound lever works with the mainspring to return the trigger after the shot. Colt lockwork of this period is hand-fitted rather than drop-in, so expect a gunsmith to fit this part to your revolver. A worn or incorrectly fitted lever shows up as a trigger that fails to return or resets sluggishly, which in turn affects cylinder indexing. After fitting, work the action through every chamber in both single and double action, slowly and at speed, with the gun empty before loading.
Please note: Buyer is responsible for verifying correct fit for their specific firearm. Installation should be performed by a qualified gunsmith. Please review all photos, as they are part of the description and show the actual item you will receive.
Condition: Used rebound levers with light finish wear, showing original machining marks on the flats. No rust or pitting. The pivot holes and the slotted eyes are clean with no elongation, the formed arms are true with no bends, and the bearing faces are complete with no chipping.
