This is the RG-66 hammer plunger, sold with its spring and retaining pin, for the Rohm / RG Industries RG 66 single action .22 revolver.
The RG Industries catalog describes the RG 86 as the same gun as the RG 66 built on a steel frame, with a walnut grip and a fixed rear sight in place of the RG 66’s adjustable one. Same six-shot action, same slide ejector rod, same barrel lengths — which is why an 86 owner should be looking at RG 66 internals.
Included: Hammer plunger, spring and pin, the exact parts pictured.
Fits:
- RG 66, .22 LR — 4-3/4″, 6″ and 9″ barrels, blued or nickel
- RG 66M, .22 LR with the interchangeable .22 Magnum cylinder — same barrel lengths, blued or nickel
- RG 86 — the factory catalog gives it the same specifications as the RG 66 apart from the steel frame, walnut grip and fixed rear sight. Confirm against your gun before ordering.
- RG 66T — this designation turns up on German-marked guns of the same pattern but does not appear in the RG Industries catalog. Match on features, not on the model suffix.
Fitting: This is a hammer component and should be fitted by a gunsmith. After reassembly and before loading, work the action through all three hammer positions and confirm the hammer cocks and holds at each notch, that the trigger releases it cleanly, and that the hammer does not follow down or drop on cocking. As with any SAA-pattern single action, carry it with the chamber under the hammer empty.

Condition: Used. The plunger is white steel, unfinished as made rather than a worn finish, with no wear on the bearing surfaces. Spring coils even with no set. Pin straight with square ends.
