This is the Clerke First hammer strut, sold together with its spring and pin, for the Clerke Technicorp revolver.
Clerke Technicorp incorporated in Santa Monica in 1972 and built these to fill the gap the 1968 Gun Control Act import rules left in the cheap handgun market. One frame served three versions — .32 S&W, .22 LR and a blank-firing starter pistol — with the works common to all three, which is why this strut serves the centerfire and rimfire guns alike. The box these shipped in carried three checkboxes for exactly that reason.

Fitting: This is a hammer component and should be fitted by a qualified gunsmith. After reassembly and before loading, work the action in both single and double action and confirm the hammer cocks and holds, that the trigger releases it cleanly and resets, and that the hammer does not follow down.

Condition: Used, in the original chrome plating over a cast zinc alloy body, bright throughout with light scuffing on the flats. The plating is intact with no flaking, lifting or blistering. The body is straight with no bend or twist, the pivot hole is round and unwallowed, and the integral post and the step at the head are crisp and unpeened. No cracks, crazing or swelling anywhere in the casting. The spring is even through its length with uniform coils, no crush and no set. The pin is straight with square ends and shows a grooved surface along its length.
