This is a European pocket revolver cylinder, six-shot, bored .315 inch and proofed with the eagle over N.
What the proof tells you. Eagle over N is the German nitro proof — N for Nitro Beschuss, meaning the piece was proved with a smokeless high-pressure load. It replaced the earlier crown over N under the proof law of 1939, coming into use across the German proof houses on 15 January 1940, and stayed in service until CIP over N replaced it in October 2014. The bird is the plain proof eagle, holding nothing, which is a different mark from the wreathed party and military eagles of the war years.
What we have not identified. The gun it came from. The elongated stop notches are the older European pattern rather than the short rectangular notches of American revolvers, and the proportions are those of a pocket-sized frame. Beyond that we are not going to guess at a model, so the measurements below are given in full and the mark is photographed clearly. Anyone with the frame in hand can check every critical dimension before buying.

Fitting: A revolver cylinder is a fitted part and this is work for a gunsmith. Confirm chambering and headspace, that the cylinder carries up and locks at every chamber before the hammer falls, that the stop engages each notch, and that barrel-cylinder gap and endshake are within specification before the gun is fired.

Condition: Six-shot cylinder retaining its original nickel finish, intact overall with a soft even lustre. Dense fine scratching and swirl marks from handling and past cleaning, heaviest on the flutes and outer body, with scattered small areas of thinning and minor flaking. Chamber mouths round and unpeened. Chamber walls show machining marks and dark areas where plating is thin or absent, with no heavy fouling or pitting visible. Ratchet complete, all teeth sharp with no rounding or chipping. Bolt notches cleanly formed with no peening or spread. Centre bore clean, threaded at the rear. Eagle over N proof struck clearly on the body. No cracks, bulges or repairs.
