Description

  • Additional information

This is the Rohm RG-16 RG-17 barrel lock lever, the latch that holds the barrel block closed on the RG over-under derringer. The factory calls it the locking lever and assigns it key 4134. It was designed by Röhm Gesellschaft of Sontheim an der Brenz and built at the company’s Miami plant as RG Industries after the Gun Control Act of 1968 shut Röhm out of the US import market.

Caliber drives most of what splits the RG 16 from the RG 17 — barrels, frames, cover plates, firing pins, ejectors and hammer slides all carry their own numbers on the factory drawing. The barrel latch is not one of them. It locks the same barrel block geometry in both guns, so a single part number covers the .22 Magnum and the .38 Special, and the blued and nickel frames along with them.

The RG Model 15 uses a different barrel latch and this lever will not fit it.

Fits:

  • RG (Röhm) Model 16 derringer, .22 Magnum
  • RG (Röhm) Model 17 derringer, .38 Special
  • Blued and nickel guns alike

Does not fit:

  • RG Model 15 derringer — different barrel latch
  • RG revolvers — RG-14, RG-23, RG-31, RG-38, RG-40 and the rest of the swing-cylinder line
  • EM-GE and ERGE pistols, despite the shared Röhm–Gerstenberger lineage

Fitting: The lever indexes against a spring-loaded detent in the frame.

Please note: Buyer is responsible for verifying correct fit for their specific firearm. Installation should be performed by a qualified gunsmith. Please review all photos, as they are part of the description and show the actual item you will receive.

Condition: Lightly used with no finish wear but no significant blemishes
