This is the Ruger Mainspring Seat, part no. R-5 / XR00500, for the Ruger single-action revolvers.

One seat covers a wide span of Ruger’s single-action line — the Blackhawk, the Single-Six, the Vaquero and the Old Army cap-and-ball revolver all share it, across both Old Model and New Model production.

Fitting: The mainspring seat bears against the mainspring in the grip frame. A worn or incorrectly seated part shows up as inconsistent hammer fall or a mainspring that shifts under load. After installation, work the action with the gun empty and confirm the hammer falls consistently and the trigger resets before loading.

Condition: Used mainspring seats retaining most of their dark finish, with light gray wear along the formed edges and the rims of the slots. The slots are clean with no elongation or cracking at the corners, and both parts hold their formed shape with no distortion.
