This Cylinder Latch is a retrofit for pre-1973 Single Six, Blackhawk and Super Blackhawk revolvers as a component of the safety conversion kit. Its purpose is to help prevent accidental discharges if the gun is dropped or the hammer is struck, especially when the basic precaution of keeping the hammer down on an empty chamber hasn’t been followed.
