This is the M1 Garand Front Handguard, walnut, complete with its front handguard ferrule and front handguard spacer, for the U.S. Rifle, Caliber .30, M1.
The front handguard sits between the lower band and the gas cylinder. The ferrule caps its front end toward the gas cylinder, and the metal spacer runs along the inside to position and steady the wood on the barrel.
Included: Walnut front handguard with front handguard ferrule and front handguard spacer, the exact parts pictured. Used. Origin not confirmed: we have not identified it as USGI or commercial.

- M1 Garand gas-port rifles by Springfield Armory, Winchester, International Harvester and Harrington & Richardson
Does not fit:
- Early gas-trap M1 rifles, which used a different front handguard

Condition: Used walnut handguard with an oiled finish showing honest service wear: handling marks, small dings and scratches (mostly near the ferrule end), and a light mark across the grain near the rear. The ferrule shows finish wear with bright spots on its edges and slot, and it sits tight to the wood. The metal liner inside is intact, with light wear.
