Description
- Additional information
This is the Walther P22 Sear Spring and pin assembly, for the .22 LR P22 series. The pin measures 0.465″ long by 0.100″ in diameter, which is Walther’s 2.5 x 12 pin rather than the larger 3 x 20 used elsewhere in the pistol.
Carl Walther has built the P22 in Germany since 2002. Worth knowing before you order across models: Walther’s own parts catalog shows a lot of crossover between the P22 and the PK380. The sear itself, the magazine catch, and both pin sizes — including the 2.5 x 12 supplied here — are cataloged as P22/PK380 parts. The sear spring is not. Walther lists it as a P22 part only. So this assembly splits: the pin serves both pistols, the spring serves only the P22.
Measurements:
- Pin length: 0.465″
- Pin diameter: 0.100″
Included: Sear spring and pin, the exact parts pictured.
Fits:
- Walther P22
- Walther P22Q
- Walther P22 Target
Walther describes this spring as serving the P22 series, which covers the run from the 2002 introduction through current P22Q production.
Does not fit: The Walther PK380, as an assembly. The pin included here is a shared P22/PK380 part, but the sear spring is cataloged for the P22 only. If you are working on a PK380, the pin will serve you and the spring will not.
Not verified: The Smith & Wesson M&P22. Walther built that pistol for Smith & Wesson, so a shared part is plausible, but it is a different design with its own frame and magazine and we have not compared the springs. Also not verified against the Walther SP22 target pistols, which are a separate model line.
Fitting: This is a fire control component and should be fit by a qualified gunsmith. A worn, weak or incorrect sear spring is a common cause of the hammer following the slide down and of the trigger failing to reset. Once installed, function check on an empty gun before loading: confirm the hammer holds at cock, that it does not drop when the frame is bumped, that the trigger resets cleanly in both double and single action, and that the safety and magazine safety both function. Do not load the pistol until it passes.
Please note: Buyer is responsible for verifying correct fit for their specific firearm. Installation should be performed by a qualified gunsmith. Please review all photos, as they are part of the description and show the actual item you will receive.
Condition: No notable blemishes
