This Wolff reduced power hammer spring is a 12 lb coil mainspring, two pounds under the 14 lb Ruger factory standard, for the Super Redhawk and the other double action revolvers built on the GP-100 pattern.
Wolff catalogs this family in 9, 10, 11, and 12 lb reduced power ratings. The 12 is the conservative end of that range — it takes the worst of the stacking out of the double action stroke and lightens single action let-off while keeping the most ignition margin of the four. Shooters wanting a lighter pull than this usually step down to 10 lb and accept that primer selection starts to matter. Pairing a reduced hammer spring with a lighter trigger return spring gives a bigger improvement in feel than either one alone; the factory trigger return spring is 12 lb and Wolff offers 8 and 10.
Included: One 12 lb reduced power hammer spring. Hammer strut, strut seat, and trigger return spring are not included and are reused from your revolver.

Fitment: This is not the spring for the standard Redhawk. The Redhawk uses a longer mainspring that also serves as the trigger return spring, and Wolff sells reduced power Redhawk springs in an overlapping 12, 13, 14 lb range — check which revolver you have before ordering. Will not fit .22 LR models; the GP-100 .22 and SP-101 .22 use a different spring. Any reduced power hammer spring can produce light primer strikes, particularly with hard magnum or military primers. Gunsmith installation is recommended, and the revolver should be function checked with the actual ammunition you intend to use before it is carried or relied on.
