Description
- Additional information
This is the Mossberg Cartridge Stop for the Mossberg Palomino 400 and 402 lever-action .22 rifles.
The Palomino is the odd one in Mossberg’s rimfire lineup — a lever-action in a range otherwise built on bolt and semi-auto actions, made from 1959 into the early 1970s. The 402 is the carbine version of the 400 with a shorter barrel and a straight-grip stock, and the two share this part.
Included: Cartridge stop only, the exact part pictured.
Fits:
- Mossberg Palomino 400
- Mossberg Palomino 400A
- Mossberg Palomino 402
- Mossberg Palomino 402A
Fitting: The cartridge stop holds rounds in the magazine tube and releases them one at a time as the lever is worked. A worn, bent or incorrectly seated stop shows up as two rounds released at once, a round that fails to release at all, or cartridges hanging at the carrier. After installation, cycle dummy rounds through a full magazine by hand and confirm one round feeds per stroke before firing.
Please note: Buyer is responsible for verifying correct fit for their specific firearm. Installation should be performed by a qualified gunsmith. Please review all photos, as they are part of the description and show the actual item you will receive.
Condition: Used cartridge stop with a gray steel surface and light mottling across the flats. The formed tabs at the top are intact and evenly shaped, the body is straight with no bends, and the pivot hole is open with no elongation.
