Description
- Additional information
This is the Clerke First sideplate, the plate covering the lockwork in the frame, for the Clerke Technicorp revolver.
Clerke Technicorp incorporated in Santa Monica in 1972 and built these to fill the gap the 1968 Gun Control Act import rules left in the cheap handgun market. One frame served three versions — .32 S&W, .22 LR and a blank-firing starter pistol — with the frame common to all three, which is why this sideplate serves the centerfire and rimfire guns alike.
Included: One sideplate, the exact part pictured.
Fits:
- Clerke First revolvers in .22 LR
- Clerke First revolvers in .32 S&W
- Guns roll-marked Clerke’s 1st, Mfg. Clerke Technicorp, Santa Monica California
Fitting: Sideplates are fitted to the frame at the factory and a replacement may need dressing to seat flush. Have it fitted by a qualified gunsmith, and confirm the lockwork functions normally with the plate in place before the revolver is used.
Please note: Buyer is responsible for verifying correct fit for their specific firearm. Installation should be performed by a qualified gunsmith. Please review all photos, as they are part of the description and show the actual item you will receive.
Condition: Used, in the original bright chrome plating, intact across the whole plate with no flaking, lifting or blistering. Light scratching over the outer face, most of it fine and visible only in direct light, with a few shallow marks near the screw hole. The plate is flat and true with no bend, the raised boss is crisp, and the screw hole is round and unwallowed with the countersink clean. Edges are sharp and unpeened. No cracks.
